Speaking of vinyl mastering, this is what the next step looks like: the master lacquer is sent to the plant and used to make metal stampers, which are then used to press the actual vinyl. I don't think most musicians get to see this, but sadly the plant that pressed my record went out of business, and they sent me my stampers in case I want to do any reprints.
